Nigeria's public debt has reached N166.79 trillion, according to fresh figures. Between December 2023 and December 2025, the country's external debt rose from $42.49 billion to $51.86 billion. Over the same period, domestic debt increased from N59.1 trillion to N89.4 trillion.
