United States President Donald Trump has rejected a seven-day proposal by Iran to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, according to The Wall Street Journal. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had announced at the United Nations General Assembly that Tehran would restore normal maritime passage within seven days if the US lifted its naval blockade and oil sanctions. The development occurred as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian returned to Tehran after participating in the UNGA, where he held talks with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
