The Eritrean delegation, led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh, held a series of meetings with counterparts from Algeria, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Sudan, Sweden, and Greece on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly from 23 to 25 September. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as issues of mutual interest. In the meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, the two sides addressed peace and security in Africa, including security in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. They reaffirmed their commitment to respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of African states and rejected foreign interventions that have contributed to conflicts across Africa, while also agreeing to strengthen bilateral relations.
