MC Oluomo leads tributes as Lagos NURTW leader, Baba Alado dies at 83

Chief Taoreed Faronbi, a Lagos grassroots leader popularly known as Baba Alado, has died at the age of 83. His family confirmed the death, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, September 26, 2026, and burial rites were conducted shortly afterward in line with Islamic tradition. NURTW National President Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, led tributes in a condolence message, describing Faronbi as a respected figure whose contributions to the union and the wider community would remain part of his legacy. Faronbi was a prominent figure in the Lagos transport union and also held traditional, commercial and political influence across parts of Lagos, serving as Olori Ebi of the Alagbeji Royal Family.
