A 25-year-old newlywed businessman, Lovely Chukwulobelu, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for allegedly attempting to traffic cocaine to Portugal. According to a statement signed by NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy Femi Babafemi, the suspect was intercepted at the departure hall of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, on Thursday, September 25, 2026, while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Portugal via Addis Ababa. The agency said he had ingested 72 wraps of cocaine and was placed under excretion observation after his arrest, subsequently excreting all the wraps. Chukwulobelu, who was wearing his wedding ring at the time of arrest, reportedly told investigators he previously operated a car decoration business at the Trade Fair Complex in the Ojo area.
