The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has expressed concern over reported killings, attacks, and mass abductions in Plateau, Zamfara, and Niger states. In a statement signed by National Coordinator Comrade Emmanuel Nnadozie Onwubiko, the group described the incidents as evidence of a deepening security crisis. HURIWA noted that many Nigerians remain vulnerable despite government assurances of measures to tackle terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes. The organisation called on the government to develop preventive security operations to identify and neutralise threats before they cause mass casualties.
