The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Benue State, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, has urged his supporters not to retaliate over the alleged burning of campaign materials belonging to his movement, Benue First. Aondoakaa condemned the alleged burning of his campaign materials by an opposing politician at the weekend and called on his supporters across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding. In a statement, he said no act of provocation should make his supporters abandon the principles of peace, justice, tolerance, and rule of law upon which the campaign was founded. He specifically urged them not to retaliate, destroy anyone's campaign materials, or engage in violence.
