A newly married couple, identified as Funmilayo Bamidele and Rev. Abiodun David, have been abducted by armed assailants while returning from their engagement ceremony in Eruku, Kwara State. The couple were reportedly travelling with four other passengers on Saturday evening when their vehicle was intercepted along the Iyemero–Eruku route in Kogi State. The incident was initially reported as having occurred in Kwara State. However, the Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti local government chairman in Kwara State, Mr Dada Sunday, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Sunday. He clarified that the abduction occurred in Kogi State, and although it did not occur in Kwara State, the local government remained concerned because the victims were returning from an event held in the council.
