Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved the immediate dissolution of boards, commissions, and parastatals, and terminated the appointments of all political appointees, including Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and Technical Assistants. A statement from his media adviser, Yinka Oyebode, said the decision was necessary due to the gradual winding down of the governor's first term ahead of his second-term inauguration on October 16, 2026. Statutory boards such as the State Independent Electoral Commission, Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission, and Judicial Service Commission are not affected. Governing councils of state-owned tertiary institutions also remain intact.
