The Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State-Owned Universities has called on Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to halt the alleged illegal extension of the Vice-Chancellor's tenure at Osun State University beyond the statutory five-year term. The committee also urged that the National Universities Commission be legally strengthened to exercise overriding regulatory authority over university administration nationwide. It recommended that professional regulatory bodies participate only in NUC-led accreditation teams. These resolutions were contained in a communique issued after COPSUN's 73rd quarterly meeting.
