A newlywed couple, Funmilayo Bamidele and Reverend Abiodun David, along with four others, were abducted by suspected terrorists on the Eruku-Iyemero Road bordering Kwara and Kogi states. The victims were returning from their engagement ceremony in Eruku when their vehicle was intercepted. The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the incident, and efforts to secure their release are ongoing.
