At least 18 people have been bitten by a dog suspected to have rabies in Garko Local Government Area of Kano State. The Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS) has launched a search operation for the dog and two others suspected to be infected. The dog initially bit 11 people in Garko town before moving to neighbouring communities, where seven more were bitten. The NFSS has warned of the potential spread of the disease and is taking measures to contain the situation.
