The FCT Police Command reported that a fire broke out at a cooking gas sales plant in Byazhin after a vehicle crashed into the facility. According to police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred on September 27, 2026, at about 6:30 a.m., following a distress call from a resident at Liberty Junction. A police team from the Kubwa Police Division was deployed to the scene, where the fire had engulfed nearby shops and properties. The police, working with the federal fire service, have contained the fire, and a manhunt is ongoing for the driver who caused the fire by driving against traffic.
