The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has demanded the resignation of Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo over his defense of the current petrol price. The party described the governor's response to the economic hardship facing Nigerians as insensitive. It also rejected his comparison of petrol prices in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, warning the federal government against further increases in the pump price. Okpebholo had said that petrol sold for over N3,000 per litre in the UK after conversion to naira, arguing that Nigerians were doing well because petrol remained cheaper in Nigeria.
