The House of Representatives Committee on Delegated Legislation has queried the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, and audit firms KPMG and Ernst & Young over alleged irregularities in the CBN's 2024 and 2025 audited financial statements. In separate letters dated September 22, 2026, the committee demanded relevant financial documents and explanations, including the full analysis prepared by Jim Obazee, former Special Investigator to President Bola Tinubu. The move followed concerns raised by Obazee on September 1, where he called for the withdrawal and restatement of the CBN's 2025 audited accounts. The committee also requested the CBN's summary consolidated financial statements.
