Kano Gov: Tinubu must complete South’s 8-year tenure

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 to complete what he described as the eight-year power-sharing arrangement between the North and South. He made the remarks on Sunday at the Government House, Kano, during the flag-off of the distribution of 50 branded vehicles donated by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, to support APC mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections. Yusuf argued that the North completed its eight-year tenure under former President Muhammadu Buhari between 2015 and 2023, and that the South should be allowed to complete its own eight-year tenure under Tinubu before power returns to the North in 2031.
