The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Benue State, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, has called on his supporters not to retaliate over the alleged burning of their campaign materials. Aondoakaa condemned the alleged burning of his campaign materials by rival supporters at the weekend and urged his supporters to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding. In a statement, he said no act of provocation should make his supporters abandon the principles of peace, justice, tolerance and rule of law upon which the campaign was founded. He urged supporters across the 23 local government areas not to retaliate, destroy anyone's campaign materials or engage in violence.
