Nigerian banks deposited an estimated N77.19 trillion with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 19 business days in September 2026. The deposits were made through the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) window, with an average daily deposit of N4.06 trillion. In the same period, the CBN lent about N920 billion to banks via the Standing Lending Facility (SLF). The CBN data also showed that bank deposits declined by 1.14 per cent month-on-month to N82.99 trillion in August 2026 from N83.96 trillion in July 2026.
