Blessing Ugwuodo, an entrepreneur and Creative Director of Springfield Fashion Academy, called on unemployed youths and graduates in the Federal Capital Territory to acquire practical skills rather than relying solely on academic qualifications. She made the call at the academy's graduation ceremony in Abuja over the weekend, noting that certificates alone can no longer guarantee economic survival amid rising unemployment. Ugwuodo said many graduates remain unemployed for years due to their dependence on white-collar jobs, despite opportunities in vocational and creative industries. She urged young Nigerians to use their job-search period to develop skills and create products and services that meet market demand, adding that Nigeria's large population presents significant opportunities for local producers.
