INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, led a delegation to the Emir of Zazzau in Zaria, Kaduna State, as part of INEC's nationwide zonal readiness assessment ahead of the 2027 general elections. He urged the Emir to caution politicians and youths against electoral violence and to encourage peaceful, issue-based campaigns. Amupitan emphasized that elections should not be treated as do-or-die affairs.
