At the ninth Agriculture Summit Africa in Abuja, ministers, investors, and industry leaders emphasized that Africa must move beyond exporting raw commodities to owning processing, storage, trade, and finance. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, stated that Africa spends over $100 billion annually on food imports it could produce. The summit, themed 'Building the Next Superpower: Africa's Food Power Play,' aimed to turn Africa's agricultural potential into investable opportunities.
