NEPC targets $10bn non-oil exports from S/W region by 2035

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has announced a target of $9 billion to $10 billion in non-oil exports from Nigeria's South-West region by 2035. The target will be pursued through increased agricultural production, value addition, and export-oriented industrialisation. NEPC South-West Regional Coordinator Benedict Itegbe disclosed this at the 2026 Annual Agro-Allied Symposium and Exhibition organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). Itegbe noted that Nigeria exported $6.1 billion in 2025, with raw cocoa beans alone accounting for $2 billion, about 33 per cent of total exports.
