Lionel Messi scored a free-kick equalizer in the 33rd minute for Inter Miami, but the team lost 2-1 to Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer on Sunday. Josef Martinez had given Columbus the lead from the penalty spot five minutes earlier. Messi's 21st goal of the regular season was not enough as Columbus secured the win. Miami had a goal by substitute David Ayala disallowed for offside in the second half.
