Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Zuko Godlimpi said enterprise development must be a central part of South Africa's employment agenda. He spoke at the launch of a R1 billion fund of the Unemployment Insurance Fund and National Empowerment Fund in Fourways, Johannesburg. The fund comprises R500 million from each agency and aims to directly stimulate enterprise growth to create 30,000 jobs. Godlimpi said the scale of unemployment in the country requires greater coordination between institutions.
