A Chief Magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has arraigned one Oladeji Ojo, 41, over an alleged fraud of N3.8m. The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, in June 2026 at about 10:00 hours at Ado-Ekiti, fraudulently converted the sum of N3,800,000 to his own use, property of Mr. Rotimi Ojumola. The offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 329(3) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021. Counsel to the defendant, Barrister A. F. Awe, urged the court to admit the defendant to bail, but the prosecutor objected to the bail application, stating that the defendant was tracked before his arrest.
