‘I was misled,’ Kenneth Okonkwo makes U-turn on Obi’s debt record

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has said he was misled when he defended former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi against claims that his administration left debts behind. Okonkwo, who was Obi's spokesman during the 2023 presidential campaign, said recent disclosures by the Anambra State Government made him change his position. He now serves as spokesman for the presidential campaign council of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the ADC presidential candidate for 2027.
