A 33-year-old housewife, Hauwa'u Haruna, has been arrested after allegedly striking her co-wife to death with a pestle at Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate in Bauchi metropolis. The Bauchi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said in a statement on Monday that the C-Division received information on September 27, 2026, about a domestic incident involving two co-wives in the same household. Preliminary investigation revealed that Haruna, while experiencing hallucinations, armed herself with a pestle and struck the first wife, Jamila Adamu, 43, on the forehead, causing her to fall unconscious. Detectives mobilised to the scene, documented the incident, and rushed the victim to the Specialist Hospital, Bauchi.
