Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of demanding endless sacrifice from Nigerians while seeking fresh loans. Atiku noted that with public debt at ₦166.79 trillion, Tinubu is now seeking another $1.5 billion from the World Bank and must first account for the money already borrowed. In a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communications of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said Tinubu's record is an indictment of his economic stewardship, noting that families are struggling to afford food, fuel, and electricity while debt continues to climb. Atiku also pointed out that if Nigeria's public debt were divided among everyone, each person's share would be ₦716,822 today, compared with ₦38,000 previously.
