Dr Wale Ahmed, the lawmaker representing Agege Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, stated that President Bola Tinubu's extended stay abroad will not halt governance. In a statement, Ahmed said the President's absence should not be seen as abandonment of constitutional responsibilities, and he urged Nigerians to distinguish between legitimate scrutiny and political rhetoric. He noted that the President is entitled to annual leave and that what matters is whether government is functioning and presidential duties are being discharged. Ahmed also mentioned that Tinubu's stay in France involved official and investment-related engagements, including a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace and discussions with businessman Vincent Bolloré on investment opportunities in Nigeria.
