Atiku Abubakar has challenged President Bola Tinubu to account for loans already obtained by his administration before seeking an additional $1.5 billion from the World Bank. Atiku noted that Nigeria's public debt stands at N166.79 trillion and criticized the government for borrowing while Nigerians face rising costs of living. He acknowledged that proposed facilities for climate resilience, social protection, and early childhood development address genuine needs but argued that program titles cannot substitute for accountability.
