Telecom subscriptions hit 195.1m in July

Nigeria's active telecommunications subscriptions increased by 2.88 million in July 2026 to 195.11 million, up from 192.23 million in June, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission. The monthly growth of about 1.5 per cent raised teledensity from 88.67 per cent to 90 per cent. MTN remained the largest operator with 100.86 million subscriptions, followed by Airtel with 66.76 million, Globacom with 23.63 million, and T2 with 3.61 million. Broadband subscriptions also rose from 123.11 million in June to 124.42 million in July.
