Professor of Petroleum Engineering Izielen Agbon has described fuel subsidy as a mirage and called for policies to reduce the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). He spoke at an online discussion organized by the Alliance on Surviving COVID-19 and Beyond (ASCAB). Agbon argued that the debate over subsidy has obscured the real issue of the cost of petroleum products to consumers.
