The US State Department announced on Monday that it has revoked visas for judges, prosecutors, lawmakers, and businessmen in four South American nations: Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia. State Department spokesman Tommy Piggott said the policy targets foreign nationals and their immediate family members who undermine democratically-elected governments through corruption or narcotrafficking. All four countries are part of President Donald Trump's Shield of the Americas initiative to combat drug cartels. The visa revocations were linked to a joint statement by the initiative's members committing to coordinated sanctions and financial actions against terrorists and criminals.
