Mobile network operators in Nigeria recorded 413,587 consumer complaints in the first half of 2026, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The complaints included issues such as network quality, data depletion, billing, and failed transactions. Airtel recorded the highest number with 228,992 complaints, followed by MTN with 124,405, Globacom with 56,810, and T2mobile with 3,885. Although 406,938 complaints (98.38 per cent) were resolved, the NCC has begun auditing operators' compensation claims amid concerns over the cost of staying connected following a telecom tariff adjustment.
