Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, the Katsina State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, returned to the state after an overseas medical trip. He was welcomed by supporters and associates upon his arrival in Katsina. Shortly afterwards, he travelled to Dutsin-Ma to attend the funeral prayer for Alhaji Sabe Hassan Makera, younger brother of prominent politician Alhaji Aminu Makera. A statement by his campaign spokesman, Abubakar Ahmed, said Kaita's return would enable the ADC campaign organisation to intensify mobilisation across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
