85.2 percent Nigerians lack effective social protection —ILO

The International Labour Organisation has said that 85.2 percent of Nigerians are without effective social protection coverage, leaving the vast majority exposed to poverty, economic shocks, and other vulnerabilities. This means only 14.8 percent of Nigerians are effectively covered by social protection. The figures highlight a major gap in social protection coverage in the country.
