The Nigerian Consulate General in Johannesburg has called for justice following the deaths of three Nigerian nationals in separate incidents across South Africa between September 18 and 21. Consul-General Amb. Ninikanwa Okey-Uche said in a Monday statement that Kenechukwu Igwemmadu died on September 18 after jumping from a building while attempting to escape alleged police harassment and brutality at Kenlin Court on Douglas Street, Bloemfontein. Two days later, Olaniyi Olatunde, a Nigerian security guard, was also killed, while Christian Nnaemeka was named as the third victim. The Consulate urged South African authorities to establish the circumstances of the deaths and ensure anyone found responsible faces the law.
