The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports a sharp decline in cholera cases in Sudan following intensified humanitarian support. The World Health Organization prepositioned 60 metric tons of cholera supplies, enough to treat about 120,000 cases, and strengthened surveillance and health worker training. Oral cholera vaccination campaigns reached over 915,000 people. The outbreak, which began in May in West Kordofan, has spread to 20 localities across six states, with nearly 3,000 cases and 250 deaths reported.
