Ethiopia: Insecurity complicates aid operations in north

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warns that worsening insecurity in northern Ethiopia is disrupting aid operations and increasing humanitarian needs. Access has been severely restricted by disrupted telecommunications, suspended flights to Tigray and parts of Amhara, and road restrictions, hindering the movement of aid workers and supplies. Funding shortages have already forced some partners to scale back or suspend activities, leaving fewer organizations on the ground. Humanitarian partners are monitoring the situation and implementing contingency measures to continue support where possible.
