AI companies are asking employees to flag writing generated by artificial intelligence rather than passing off chatbot responses as their own. Leaders at tech startups including Clay and Figma began sharing their companies' AI writing policies, with one company asking employees to use a steak emoji to flag non-human work. Varun Anand, cofounder of AI sales and marketing startup Clay, shared his company's recently rolled-out AI writing policy in an X post on Monday, with the guidelines having been shared on LinkedIn last month. The guidelines do not ban employees from using chatbots to brainstorm and draft writing but ask them to take responsibility for everything they share with colleagues.
