Jev, a new AI model built by startup TypeSafe AI, has drawn attention in San Francisco's tech scene, prompting a hackathon at CodeRabbit's office. The model was created by former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida and takes a different approach from large language models by making decisions in milliseconds and including probabilities in its answers. Its launch video from mid-September has accumulated almost 40 million views on X. Developers at the Saturday hackathon told Business Insider what they are building with the tool.
