Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to restore petroleum subsidy if elected president in the 2027 election, saying his administration would first eliminate corruption in the system. Obi made the promise on Monday at a town hall meeting held in Sokoto for the Obi/Kwankwaso presidential ticket. He identified corruption as an issue his administration would address before reinstating the subsidy.
