The Senate has approved an extension of the implementation of the capital component of the 2025 budget from September 30, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The approval followed a clause-by-clause consideration of a bill to amend the 2025 Appropriation Act, sponsored by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele. Bamidele noted that the execution of capital projects had not reached optimal levels despite the release of allocated funds to MDAs.
