The AFCON 2027 qualifiers are entering the second matchday of the group stage, with 12 groups of four teams each playing in a round-robin format. Matchday 2 fixtures will be played through October 6. A special rule applies to groups featuring host nations Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, which have already qualified as future hosts, leaving the remaining three teams in each group to compete for one spot. Ethiopia will face Senegal in Group J on September 29 in Bahir Dar after both teams made disappointing starts.
