The Obedient Movement has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against deploying Artificial Intelligence in the 2027 general elections without first addressing unresolved issues of electoral transparency, result transmission and institutional credibility. National Coordinator Dr. Yunusa Tanko issued the warning in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday. He was reacting to recent disclosures by INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan that the commission had commenced the deployment of AI tools to detect discrepancies and administrative errors in election results. Amupitan also said INEC was fortifying its systems against AI-generated disinformation, including cloned voices of electoral officers and deepfake videos.
