Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has called for intensified efforts to rescue over 40 children abducted in Borno State who remain in captivity after 137 days. The children were taken from Mussa community in Askira-Uba Local Government Area on May 15, 2026. Makinde made the appeal while receiving the report of a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. He stressed that no Nigerian child should remain at the mercy of terrorists for seeking an education.
