Women from Tyomu community in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State protested on Tuesday over the abduction of 18 residents, including eight women, who were kidnapped along the Adoka-Ankpa road while traveling to Kogi State for a burial. The protesters blocked the Makurdi-Gboko road at Tyomu, Fidi Council Ward, demanding government intervention to secure the victims' release. The victims were abducted by gunmen on Friday evening near the Benue/Kogi boundary, and despite a N30 million ransom demand and the payment of N3 million, they remain in captivity.
