Professor Adewunmi Falode of Lagos State University has proposed a 7-year single tenure for President and governors, a weaker centre with stronger states, and free compulsory education to address Nigeria's challenges. Delivering LASU's 115th Inaugural Lecture, he argued that Nigeria's crises stem from a structural malfunction in democracy, federalism, and education. He described the current democracy as elitist, exclusionary, and divisive.
