Nigerian-American artist Kehinde Wiley has asked to buy back his painting that was removed from the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic. In a letter to President Donald Trump and other officials, Wiley requested the return of the artwork after it was criticised and suggested it could be sold. Wiley told The New York Times that the episode left him with deep sadness, and he believes the work should be brought home if the administration is not interested in it.
