The Ogun State Police Command has cautioned political actors against allowing criminal elements to exploit the electoral process to cause violence or undermine public safety ahead of the 2027 general elections. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni issued the warning at a two-day workshop on elections, security, law, stakeholders, and the media held in Abeokuta. The workshop was organized by the command in collaboration with the Development Communication Research Centre. Ojajuni emphasized that elections are a constitutional process, not a war, and urged political actors to respect the law and prevent political differences from escalating into violence.
